Dupatta for Women - Designer Dupattas Handcrafted in Jaipur

There is something about a good dupatta that no other accessory can replicate. It moves with you. It adds colour where an outfit needs it and softness where it does not expect it. And when it is made by hand by someone who has spent years learning a craft, you can feel that too.

The Jaipur Studio has been making women's ethnic wear since 1950. Our dupatta collection is small on purpose. Five styles, three fabrics, honest pricing at Rs. 595, and zero shortcuts on craft. Every dupatta for women in this collection comes from an artisan workshop in Rajasthan, not a factory floor.

The Dupattas We Make

Each style in this collection comes from a different craft tradition. Here is what we currently have:

• Leheriya Print Kota Doria Dupatta - Leheriya is a wave-dye technique that Rajasthani artisans have practiced for centuries. On Kota Doria, the result is a light, airy dupatta with diagonal stripes of colour. Available in Yellow, Multi, and Pink.
• Patola Print Kota Doria Dupatta - Geometric, bold, and a little striking. Patola patterns have roots in Gujarat's double-ikat weaving tradition. On Kota Doria fabric, they feel surprisingly wearable. Available in 8 colours including Green, Red, Black, Blue, and Multi.
• Cotton Multicoloured Katch Work Dupatta - This one is our most everyday piece. A multi-colour dupatta in soft cotton with Kutch embroidery hand-stitched along the borders and body. Available in White, Red, Black, and Pink.
• Tissue Dupatta with Mirror Work - If you have ever wanted a dupatta that does something at a wedding, this is it. Small mirrors are hand-stitched onto tissue fabric, and the result catches light in a way that photographs and in-person both love. This multicolor dupatta with mirror work comes in 12 shades including Maroon, Mauve, Peach, Gold, and Beige.
• Tissue Dupatta with Gotta Work - Gotta patti is golden ribbon embroidery, folded and stitched by hand into floral and geometric motifs. On tissue, it sits beautifully. This is our most requested heavy embroidered dupatta for bridal and festive occasions. Available in 15+ colours.

About the Fabrics

Fabric is where most dupatta collections cut corners. We do not.

•  Kota Doria - Woven in Kota, Rajasthan, this fabric has a distinctive open-weave structure called khat. It is sheer, breathable, and stays cool in summer. If you live in a warm city and want a dupatta you can actually wear daily, Kota Doria is the answer.
• Cotton - Our cotton dupattas are soft from the start and only improve with washing. They hold colour well and are easy to care for at home. The right pick if you want something you can throw on without overthinking it.
• Tissue - Tissue has a quiet shimmer to it. It drapes well and holds embroidery work without pulling or puckering. It is why we use it specifically for our mirror work and gotta work styles. The fabric was made for festive dressing.

Ways to Wear a Dupatta

A dupatta does not have one right way to be worn. These are five that work well across different outfits and occasions:

• Over both shoulders - The most classic drape. Even, symmetrical, works with anything. Let the ends hang naturally.
• Pinned at one shoulder - Pull the dupatta to one side and secure it with a pin. Looks intentional and works especially well with tissue or embroidered styles.
• Around the neck like a stole - Casual and modern. Works best with lighter fabrics like Kota Doria or cotton.
• Tied at the waist - Loop a multi colour dupatta around your waist like a belt or sash. A quick way to add colour to a plain kurta.
•  Pallu style - Bring the dupatta across the body from one shoulder and let the embroidered end fall at the back. Best reserved for heavy embroidered dupatta styles at weddings or functions.
